Appoint Kenechi Onyeagusi to the Portland Housing Advisory Commission for a term to expire November 2023

November 17, 2021 As Mayor and Commissioner of Finance & Administration, I request Council confirmation of the following appointment to the Portland Housing Advisory Commission: Appointment Term Begin Term Ends Kenechi Onyeagusi November 2021 November 2023 Respectfully submitted, Ted Wheeler Mayor Bio Kenechi Onyeagusi is the Executive Director of Professional Business Development Group . Ms. Onyeagusi is an established business and finance professional with 12 years of experience in commercial banking working with small businesses and nonprofit organizations. She brings a strong accounting background with advanced financial analysis and budgeting skills to all of her work. Ms. Onyeagusi is a strategic thinker with the ability to work well and communicate with diverse multicultural teams. Additionally, her leadership roles in economic and small business development assists her work with the business community, government agencies, and chambers of commerce. Ms. Onyeagusi has a long history of service to her community by participating on the boards and committees of several non-profit organizations. She currently serves on several equity and economic development focused committees centered on Oregon’s Certification of Office for Business Inclusion and Diversity (COBID) certified firms in the region. Statement of Interest Ms. Onyeagusi believes in the value of public participation in government processes. She is interested in serving on the Portland Housing Advisory Commission to be able apply her skills and expertise in advising the Housing Bureau and Housing Commissioner on housing policy and planning, budget review and recommendations, resource development, program development and evaluation as well as enhancing public-private partnerships, community, and intergovernmental relations.
