During her time in China and Singapore, Kerry ran a business, worked and volunteered for non-profits, and managed diplomacy campaigns, amongst other adventures. Portland, Oregon is the first place Kerry’s lived with her teen children in America, and Kerry is excited to be involved in PCCEP as a new active, invested resident and community member. Statement of Interest As a PCCEP member, Kerry looks forward to learning from the diverse viewpoints of neighbors across the City and working together to improve public safety. Kip Silverman Biography I am a Technologist, an Activist, and Father to three incredible human beings. Portland has been my home for nearly 25 years and I have been committed to doing what I can to make it a more livable and equitable city for all. I am passionate about community, collaboration, and inclusivity. In my professional and personal capacities, I am known to creatively solve complex problems working to ensure that all voices are heard, especially voices that often are pushed to the margins. I have been actively working on issues of home/houselessness and food security/hunger for over a decade. I strongly believe that transparency and accountability are intrinsic in the relationship between government entities and the public. I hope to use my knowledge and experience to work with my fellow PCCEP members and Portland's communities to keep everyone engaged and have their voices heard. Statement of Interest As we move forward into a new era of Portland city government and representation, it is even more critical we ensure continuity of this process and ideally expand access for community participation and involvement. I am honored and excited to be part of this effort. Mollay Ramos (youth) Biography Mollay Ramos has an unmatched sense of agency and is dedicated to creating safer schools and communities through policy work. Having successfully championed Measure 114, she understands the importance of effective policies for community safety. With three years of active involvement in community work, she developed a strong sense of agency. Raised in Portland after leaving South Washington, she lived through and witnessed the challenges our community faces and is committed to addressing them. In addition to her work on Measure 114, she is deeply involved in two non-profit organizations Love is Stronger and Unite Oregon focused on youth leadership development and gang violence prevention. Through these roles, she has gained valuable insights into the root causes of community violence and have actively worked to implement programs that provide mentorship, support, and opportunities for at-risk youth. Her experience in these non-profits has further fueled her passion for creating a safe space for community members to voice their concerns and collaborate towards a safer future. Statement of Interest By joining the PCCEP, she aspires to bridge the gap between community members and law enforcement, ensuring that our policies and initiatives are rooted in the real concerns and needs of our citizens. She is passionate about creating a safe space for community members to share their perspectives and collaborate on sustainable solutions. Together, we can work towards a safer, more inclusive, and harmonious future for our beloved city. Odelia Zuckerman (youth) Biography Odelia (she/her) is a resident of Northeast Portland. She has called Portland home for the past seven years. She attended school in Los Angeles where she received a degree in philosophy and politics. She currently works in the field of violence prevention, educating youth in topics of consent and boundaries through an anti-oppression lens. Statement of Interest What does a world without violence look like? This question motivates Odelia’s intentions behind joining PCCEP. The answers to this question include reimagining what our systems of accountability and harm repair look like. She believes we can achieve this through restorative practices, system-based social support, and collectivism. She hopes to make room for voices often silenced or underrepresented when it comes to policing.
