Reappoint Serena Stoudamire Wesley to Prosper Portland Board for term to expire July 8, 2025

June 29, 2022 As Mayor and Commissioner of Finance & Administration, I request Council confirmation of the following reappointment to the Prosper Portland Board: Reappointment Current Term New Term Serena Stoudamire Wesley 7/10/2020 to 7/9/2022 7/9/2022 to 7/8/2025 Respectfully submitted, Ted Wheeler Mayor Serena Stoudamire Wesley Bio: Serena Stoudamire Wesley is a first generation Oregonian and long-time community member with a passion for her community, public relations, and community engagement. Her current position is Deputy Director and Chief Program Officer at Oregon Department of Education Early Learning Division. Serena’s reputation precedes her in the sense that she is passionate and motivated about her work in equity and the community. Serena has over 20 years of extensive experience building, managing, and sustaining programs. She has leadership expertise and is a proven change agent in and around the Portland/Salem metro areas. She has a knack for objectively determining resources, procuring and allocating said resources, as well as successfully implementing changes for measurable (and successful) outcomes. She has mastered program sustainability and has a proven track record in nonprofit leadership, community relations, and government. Previously, Serena held the position of Chief Cultural Change Officer for Oregon Department of Administrative Services. She held a similar role as the Director Equity, Diversity and Inclusion for Governor Kate Brown. Prior to her state service, Serena’s experience consisted of being an Early Learning Project Manager for the HUB project with Multnomah County. Prior to that she served as Director of Community and Family Programs for Self Enhancement Inc. and also Community Relations Officer for Legacy Emanuel Hospital in Portland. Serena’s legacy of experience also involves volunteer appointments. She was formerly on the Board of Trustees at Warner Pacific University. A former member of the Portland Children’s Levy Allocation Committee, and previously represented the Chief Education Office on the Education Northwest Board of Directors and Executive Committee for the Oregon Leadership Network. Serena holds a BS in Healthcare Administration from Concordia University. I am very passionate and motivated about this place I call home and would like to continue to contribute to the revitalization and transformation of Portland.
