Purpose & background

Official meeting minutes are prepared by Council Clerk staff. Meeting minutes are a record of each meeting which includes date and time of meeting, members present, motions, proposals, resolutions, orders, ordinances and measures proposed and their disposition, and results of votes. Meeting minutes consist of closed caption files, speaker lists, and audio files of the meeting (mp3). Video files of the meeting with closed captions (mp4) are added to the archived record as they become available.

Community impacts

Council Meeting minutes document the official actions of Council proceedings and are of interest citywide and regionally. The public is not involved in preparing the minutes. The public has access to all Council Meeting minutes approved by Council.

July 12, 2023 TO THE COUNCIL: Minutes of the Portland City Council meetings for August 3, 2022 - December 29, 2022 have been completed and are on file with the Auditor’s Office. The draft minutes are available for review in Efiles. In addition to the disposition agenda and closed caption file, Council meeting minutes have been updated to include a speaker list, audio files (mp3) and video files with closed captions (mp4) as they become available. The updated process to prepare minutes is more efficient, and a regular schedule to present minutes to Council for approval will be established. August 3, 2022 August 10-11, 2022 August 17-18, 2022 August 24, 2022 August 31, 2022 September 7, 2022 September 14, 2022 September 21, 2022 September 28, 2022 October 5-6, 2022 October 12, 2022 October 19, 2022 October 21-27, 2022 November 2-3, 2022 November 9, 2022 November 16-17, 2022 November 23-24, 2022 November 30, 2022 December 7, 2022 December 14-15, 2022 December 21-22, 2022 December 28-29, 2022 Once approved by Council, meeting minutes will be available in Efiles and linked on Council meeting agendas .
