Reappoint members to the Portland Housing Advisory Commission

May 24, 2021 As Mayor and Commissioner of Finance & Administration, I request Council confirmation of the following appointment to the Portland Housing Advisory Commission: Reappointment Term ­­­_______ ______ Nate McCoy June 2021 – June 2023 Stephanie Kondor June 2021 – June 2023 Taylor Smiley Wolfe September 2021 – September 2023 Felicia Tripp Folsom November 2021 – November 2023 Sarah Stevenson November 2021 – November 2023 Respectfully submitted, Ted Wheeler Mayor Nate McCoy is the Executive Director, Operations Manager and Spokesperson for the National Association of Minority Contractors – Oregon Chapter (NAMC-Oregon). Mr. McCoy brings a wealth of knowledge around contracting and is deeply passionate about increasing the amount of city contract awards to minority owned businesses. In his final term on PHAC, Mr. McCoy looks forward to continuing to support and deepen the Housing Bureau’s commitment to its minority contracting goals and outcomes. Stefanie Kondor is the Vice President of Development for Related Northwest and was previously the Director of Real Estate Development for Central City Concern. Ms. Kondor has worked the full spectrum of housing projects from senior housing to HUD communities. She is experienced working on transactions with multi-layered funding and new market tax credits. Ms. Kondor is enthusiastic about sharing her talent and knowledge of affordable housing, sharing ideas, and collaborating with other commissioners to support PHB and the City’s affordable housing goals. Taylor Smiley Wolfe is the Director of Policy and Planning for Home Forward. As the Policy Director for House Speaker Tina Kotek, Ms. Smiley Wolfe played a major role in developing and passing tenant protections legislation, SB 608 and legalization of middle housing, HB 2001. Ms. Smiley Wolfe is excited by the possibility of leveraging her skills in evidence-based policy making to advise a group of elected and appointed leaders who are committed to addressing the affordable housing crisis in a way that influences policymaking across the country. Felicia Tripp Folsom is the Executive Director of Empowering Leaders and administrator of the Oregon Cares Fund at The Contingent. She is a graduate of the Achieving Excellence Program at Harvard's Kennedy School and is busy working on issues involving affordable housing, social justice, healthcare, and educational reform. Ms. Tripp Folsom is interested in providing feedback and guidance to help move our City forward in providing affordable housing options for residents and making sure that people that are not normally represented at the table have a voice. Sarah Stevenson is the Executive Director of Innovative Housing, Inc. (IHI). In addition to multifamily development and ownership, IHI provides wraparound services to help residents. Ms. Stevenson previously worked as an attorney where she represented nonprofit developers and specialized in nonprofit law and affordable housing development. She is committed to working collaboratively with Portland’s policy makers and elected leaders to help craft and implement a comprehensive housing policy for our City.
