Reappoint Leslie Hamilton and Dan Zalkow to the Portland Adjustment Committee for terms to expire July 11, 2025

May 28, 2021 As Mayor and Commissioner of Finance & Administration, I request Council confirmation of the following reappointments to the Portland Adjustment Committee: Reappointment Position Term Leslie Hamilton Public-at-Large July 12, 2021 through July 11, 2025 Dan Zalkow Engineering, Financing, Construction, Management of Buildings or Land Development July 12, 2021 through July 11, 2025 I am recommending reappointing Leslie Hamilton and Dan Zalkow to second four-year terms on the Adjustment Committee. Leslie has served as Chair of the Committee during her first term, which began July 12, 2017. She has been practicing as a land use planner for more than 30 years, and currently serves as a Senior Planner with the City of Hillsboro. She has also served as Senior Planner for the City of Lake Oswego, and a planner with the City of San Jose. Leslie has e xtensive experience in applying discretionary approval criteria, and presenting before hearings bodies for a variety of complex, politically sensitive development proposals. She has a Bachelor of Arts in Urban Studies/Affairs from Stanford, and Master in Urban and Regional Planning from Portland State University. Statement from Leslie regarding her interest to continue serving on the Adjustment Committee: I enjoy working with fellow commissioners and an incredible staff to find creative solutions to development constraints. Dan has served as Vice Chair of the Committee during his first term, which also began July 12, 2017. Dan currently serves as Division Director for Facilities and Real Estate for Multnomah County. Prior to working with the County, he was the Associate Vice President for Planning, Construction and Real Estate at Portland State University where he oversaw the Facilities and Property Management; Capital Projects and Construction; Campus Planning; Campus Sustainability; and Transportation and Parking departments. He has a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Georgia is Statistics and Psychology, and Master of Urban and Regional Planning from Portland State University.
