Office of Mayor Ted Wheeler City of Portland May 19th, 2021 TO: Members of Council FROM: Ted Wheeler, Mayor SUBJECT: Appoint Massarra Eiwaz-Ransom, Victor Tran, Erick Ruiz, Nabin Dhimal, Mia Sabanovic, Jessica Marks, Vania Lucio-Mancilla, Rama Youssef, and Hussein Idow to the New Portlanders Policy Commission for a 3-year term to expire May 24th, 2024. The New Portlanders Policy Commission was established by Ordinance No. 187805. The Commission was established in the City of Portland to advise the City on policies and practices to integrate immigrant and refugee communities' voices and needs into the provision of City services, City decision makers and civic engagement in Portland, and to seek constructive relationships with each member of Council and the City Auditor. The Commission consists of twenty-five voting member seats. Through the advisory bodies program application, all applicants learned about the expectations, time commitment, and role of the New Portlanders Policy Commission and affirmed their interest in serving by signing and submitting their application. This memo sets forth nine applicants including brief bios. If appointed, these applicants will bring the filled seats to twenty-four members.
