*Appropriate $557,536 in FY 2024-25 from Oregon Department of Transportation for 82nd Ave project development

The purpose of the proposed legislation is to appropriate $557,536 of budget for the FY 2024-2025. The remaining $1,442,464 of the $2,000.0000 has been added to the CIP 2025-2026 forecast. The City of Portland will use these funds to progress staff work on the project development and concept design of Phase 2 safety and maintenance improvements for the 82 nd Avenue corridor.

The project cost codes are T01412 and T01453 and are set-up to track project budget. The project was not included in the fiscal year 2024-2025 budget but has been added to the CIP 2025-2026 forecast. City staff services budget was determined based on staff work plans. The expense is an estimate with a high level of confidence because this is the second phase of a two-part sequence of safety and maintenance improvements for the 82 nd Avenue Corridor. There is no additional funding requested at this time. The project numbers are T01412 and T01453. The grant number will be TR000392. The FY 2024/2025 budget is hereby amended as follows: $$557,536. PBOT has led ongoing community engagement on 82 nd Avenue through the Building a Better 82 nd Avenue program between fall 2022 – fall 2024. PBOT will continue to coordinate with TriMet who will facilitate Open House events at each Design Phase (15%, 30%, 60%, 90% and 100%). The city will participate in all Community and Stakeholder events. There is broad community support for improvements to 82 nd Avenue.
