The City of Portland ordains: Section 1. The Council finds: The Bureau of Human Resources Benefits Office requires continued contracting and funding for prescription coverage under the self-funded health plans. In order to maintain the prescription coverage under the self-funded health plans, it is deemed appropriate and necessary to amend the contract as attached in the following Exhibit A This contract shall expire, unless otherwise terminated, on June 30, 2024 Additional compensation is required under this contract and will be increased by $55,000,000 to a total of $115,000,000 The Health Operating Fund has sufficient appropriation in support of the benefit listed above. NOW, THEREFORE, the Council directs: The Chief Human Resources Officer is hereby authorized to renew contract 30005232 and increase funding during the contract period ending June 30, 2024, hereto as Exhibit A attached. The Mayor and the Auditor are hereby authorized to draw and deliver warrants not to exceed the amounts listed in the contract. Section 2. The Council declares that an emergency exists in order to avoid undue and costly delay in providing prescription benefits to self-funded plan participants; therefore, this ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after its passage by Council.
